Affirmation of Membership

In becoming a member of MissionView Church I am making it clear that I have made a decision to be a Christ-follower. If you become a MissionView member, you are affirming, striving for, and asking for the following:

Affirming:

  1. Our mission that we are to make disciples who have an intimacy with God, community with other believers, and an influence in the world.
  2. Our vision to provide every man, woman, and child in our community an opportunity to see, hear, and respond to the gospel and see that all realize their mission.
  3. Our purpose to be a healthy church that is balanced in learning, worship, community, service, and sharing Jesus with those far from God.

Striving for:

  1. Pursuing God. We want each person to make intimacy with God their first priority, seek to hear from Him, and follow him in every area of their lives.
  2. Living connected. We want each person to strive to live in authentic biblical community with other Christ-followers.
  3. Using your gifts. We want each person to seek to discover and use his or her spiritual gifts for the benefit of others.
  4. Stewarding your life. We want each person to aim to manage every aspect of his or her life (our bodies, our relationships, our time, our money) to be used in His mission and for His glory.
  5. Sharing our Grace Stories. We want each person to intentionally seek opportunities to share their grace stories with those in their circle of responsibility (COR).

Asking for:

  1. Accountability. If there is ever a time for the body of Christ to radiate love and integrity, it is now. Individually, we are responsible to listen to the Holy Spirit as to the convictions we should follow. Our goal should be to live as Jesus lived (1 John 2:6). There are times, though, that we need someone in the love of Christ to “speak the truth in love” to us (Eph. 4:15) because we have become nearsighted or blinded by our own sin. By becoming a member, you are asking for such accountability.

I am also affirming that I hold to the following core beliefs:

  1. The Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:89; 1 Peter 1:23, 25).
  2. There is one God, who exists as three Persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2).
  3. Jesus Christ is fully God and entered human form by the miracle of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, and died for our sins. He rose again on the third day (Matthew 1:18-25;  John 1:1, 14, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-7; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 1:3; 1 John 2:1).
  4. The Holy Spirit is God. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict the world of sin, and minister to the believer. (John 3:3-6, 14:16-17, 14:26, 15:26, 16:8).
  5. All people are created in the image of God but because of Adam’s sin they are sinful by nature and choice.  Apart from forgiveness through Jesus Christ all are lost and alienated from God (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3).
  6. Salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace Christ’s death is the only payment for sin that God will accept. All who truly believe in Christ are born again and become the children of God (John 1:12-13; Ephesians 2:8-9). All true believers, once saved, are secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39).
  7. The saved will be resurrected in body and be raised to eternal intimacy with God in His presence in a new earth and heaven. The lost will be raised to judgment and experience eternal wrath in Hell. (Luke 16:19-31, 23:43; Revelation 20:11-15).

Online Membership Form

Where are you located?
We are located in Hoover High School in North Canton, Ohio. The address is 525 7th Street NE. You can use either the 7th Street or the 10th Street entrances. On Sundays there will be plenty of signage and greeters so you will know right where to go.
When are your service times?
Our main service is from 10am to 11:15am. We also want to welcome you to stay afterwards for The Commons from 11:30am to 12pm to socialize, encourage, and pray with one another while having refreshments. Our goal at MissionView is to live life together and we want to give you every opportunity to do just that. This is also a time that you can take to learn more about our church and how you can get involved.
What should I wear?
At MissionView we have a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and styles. The majority of attenders are fairly casual (lots of jeans and khakis) but you will also see some skirts and the occasional tie. We want you to be able to come as you are; whether you are in your ‘Sunday Best’ or not, you will feel comfortable here.
What should I do with my children?

At MissionView we have a great children’s program. MV Kids is for children birth through fifth grade. There will be a security check-in center close to the 7th Street entrance where you can come and check your child(ren) in. There will be activities and classes for the children from 10am until 11:15am. For teenagers, we have a student ministry program that meets from 6pm-8pm Sunday nights.  They are also encouraged to attend both the main service and The Commons on Sunday morning.

What type of church is this?
We are a non-denominational, Christ-centered church committed to teaching the Bible in its entirety. It is our desire to focus both on gaining biblical knowledge and learning how to apply it to our lives.
What version of the bible do you use?
We reference the English Standard Version (ESV) during our sermons, but you can feel free to use whichever version you wish.
What style of music will I hear?
It varies.  But, some characteristics that transcend style are the conversational nature of our approach to worship as well as the freedom to be honest in how we sing to God. It’s our hope that people not only connect with God through the music at MissionView, but they learn more about God through the process as well.
How can I get involved?
Join a Community group! These are small groups that gather once a week to discuss topics and trials relative to group members. Community groups focus on application, prayer, encouragement, and relationships.  We’re also passionate about being involved in our community! At MissionView, we will try our best to inform you of ways you can be connecting and serving around North Canton. We don’t want you to be too busy with church activities that you don’t have time to grow relationships with those outside of the church. We count coaching Little League or making a meal for a sick neighbor as an act of service that can bring God glory.
